Compare Lucine™ with premium hairdryers

Everyone made drying better. Lucine made drying a ritual.

Lucine™ by Aurrelle is a scalp-first high-speed hair dryer: a 110,000 RPM BLDC motor, 21–57 L/s airflow, InfraSonic™ dynamic air-and-temperature cycling, negative ions and a dedicated five-pod 660 nm red + 850 nm near-infrared scalp-light system.

Other dryers use technology to dry faster, manage heat or style better. Lucine extends the blow-dry into a hair and scalp care ritual.

Lucine™ vs premium hair dryers

Premium dryers have become far more sophisticated: faster motors, heat sensors, infrared drying, lower-temperature drying, ions, smart attachments. Almost all of it solves the same problem, how to dry and style better. Lucine starts with another question: what if your hairdryer became part of your hair-care routine?

Not all light dryers use light the same way

Lucine hairdryer with optional red and near-infrared light for scalp care

Same word, completely different job.

  • Infrared sensor: light detects distance, heat adjusts automatically. Purpose: heat protection.
  • Infrared drying: light interacts with water and supports evaporation. Purpose: faster, more efficient drying.
  • Light-assisted drying: light targets surface moisture and allows lower-temperature drying. Purpose: gentler drying.
  • Lucine red + NIR: 660 nm red + 850 nm near-infrared from five dedicated optical pods, directed toward the scalp and separate from heated styling. Purpose: scalp-light care.

These wavelengths sit within ranges widely studied in photobiomodulation research, including research on scalp tissue and hair-growth applications. Lucine's distinction is that the light has its own role, as part of a dedicated cool-air scalp ritual.

What makes InfraSonic™ different

Lucine hairdryer diagram showing directed airflow and InfraSonic temperature cycling

InfraSonic™ is not another heat setting. Long-press the temperature button and Lucine cycles temperature and airflow together.

Temperature: cool, rise, cool, repeat. Airflow: strong, low, repeat.

Rather than holding hair under one continuous combination of heat and air, InfraSonic™ creates a repeating rhythm: move water, change airflow, manage temperature, return to cool. Static drying becomes dynamic drying.

Lucine also doesn't depend on heat alone. The 110,000 RPM BLDC motor and 21–57 L/s airflow physically move water out of the hair instead of asking sustained heat to do all the work.

At approx. 450 g, it carries that technology without feeling heavy in the hand. And negative ions, included automatically, help manage static, flyaways and frizz. But ions alone are not innovation. The innovation is the system.

Which hairdryer is best for you?

  • Choose a conventional premium high-speed dryer if your priority is mainly fast drying, styling performance, heat management or attachment choice.
  • Choose an infrared drying system if your priority is mainly infrared-assisted evaporation and drying efficiency.
  • Choose a light-assisted dryer if your priority is mainly lower-temperature drying and hair moisture preservation.
  • Choose Lucine if you want your hairdryer to do more than finish your hairstyle: high-speed drying, dynamic InfraSonic™ cycling, negative ions, 660 nm red and 850 nm near-infrared scalp-light care, nozzle and diffuser styling and a complete ritual system.

Frequently asked comparison questions

What is Lucine?

Lucine™ is Aurrelle's scalp-first InfraSonic high-speed hairdryer, combining a 110,000 RPM BLDC motor, 21–57 L/s airflow, approximately 450 g design, negative ions, InfraSonic™ air-and-temperature cycling and dedicated 660 nm red + 850 nm near-infrared scalp light.

What is InfraSonic™?

InfraSonic™ is Lucine's automatic drying cycle. Long-pressing the temperature control activates a repeating change in temperature and airflow, rather than maintaining one continuous output.

Is Lucine an infrared hair dryer?

Lucine includes 850 nm near-infrared light, but it differs from traditional infrared dryers because the optical system is designed as a separate scalp-light mode, while high-speed airflow handles normal drying.

Is Lucine a red light hair dryer?

Yes. Lucine contains dedicated 660 nm visible red light together with 850 nm near-infrared light directed toward the scalp through five optical pods.

Does Lucine use photobiomodulation wavelengths?

Lucine uses 660 nm red and 850 nm near-infrared, wavelength ranges widely studied within photobiomodulation research. The scientific evidence for photobiomodulation generally should be distinguished from Lucine-specific product outcome claims.

What is the difference between red light and infrared drying?

Infrared drying typically uses light to influence water evaporation or hair temperature. Lucine's 660 + 850 nm system is designed as a separate scalp-care function rather than as the primary drying force.

Does Lucine protect against heat damage?

Lucine provides cold, warm and hot temperature options while InfraSonic™ dynamically changes temperature and airflow rather than holding one continuous output. Its high airflow also means drying does not need to depend solely on sustained heat.

Is Lucine an ionic hair dryer?

Yes. Lucine automatically generates negative ions to help manage static, frizz and flyaways while supporting a smoother finish.

Is Lucine lightweight?

Lucine weighs approximately 450 g, excluding the cord.

Does Lucine have a diffuser?

Yes. Lucine includes both a magnetic diffuser and magnetic nozzle.

Is Lucine suitable for curly hair?

The included diffuser provides distributed airflow designed for curls, waves and textured styling, while Lucine also allows independent control of airflow and temperature.

Is Lucine designed for scalp care?

Yes. Scalp care is a central part of Lucine's design philosophy. Its dedicated optical system uses 660 nm red + 850 nm near-infrared light directed toward the scalp as part of the Lucine ritual.

Can Lucine replace a normal hair dryer?

Yes. Lucine performs conventional drying and styling with manual airflow and temperature control, while InfraSonic™ and red + NIR scalp-light care provide additional functions when wanted.
